Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry
H.E. Yondon Gelen is a Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry of Mongolia and a Cabinet Member of the Mongolian Government. He has over 30 years of extensive experience in mining industry since his undergraduate graduation from the Irkutsk Polytechnical Institute with a degree in mining engineering and surveying in 1991. The Minister started out his career as a researcher at the Mining Institute of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences in 1991.
Prior to his current appointment, he held various top management positions of the state-owned enterprises, including as a Deputy Director of Production, a Chief Mining Engineer, a Zaamar Placer Gold Mine Director and a Chief Surveyor and Head of Industrial Technical Division of Mongolrostsvetmet SOE, and an Erdenet Mining Corporation SOE’s Deputy Director of Ulaanbaatar Office. Particularly, he worked as a mine surveyor, a senior mine surveyor, and a chief engineer at Adag and Bor-Undur underground mines in the past, giving him hands on experience in underground mining operation.
He is a qualified Consulting Engineer of Mongolia and holds a Ph.D. from the Irkutsk State Technical University in geology and mineralogy.

BATTSENGEL GOTOV
Ph.D, CEO of Mongolian Mining Corporation
Dr. Gotov was awarded a master’s degree in science in 1996 and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry in 1999 by Comenius University, Slovakia. Subsequently, Dr. Gotov was awarded scholarship by Humboldt Foundation to complete his postdoctoral research work during 2000 to 2003 at University of Cologne, Germany. After ruterning home in 2003, Dr. Gotov served in various managerial positions within the MCS Group companies. In 2008, Dr. Gotov was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Energy Resources LLC and was instrumental in the successful transformation of its operations from a greenfield project to a fully integrated coal mining, processing, transportation and marketing platform.
Dr. Gotov is a Board member of the Mongolian National Mining Association and the Mongolian Coal Association, and also serves as the President of Mongolian Basketball Association.

Dr. Uyanga Bold is the Director-General of the Geological Policy Department of Mongolia’s Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry. She had worked in the National Geological Survey of Mongolia and the Mongolian University of Science and Technology.
Dr. Uyanga Bold is experienced in field-based geological studies and exploration geoscience activities in the industry. Her graduate studies documented the stratigraphic backbone and tectonic setting of Neoproterozoic basins in Central Asia, where she used geochemical systems including carbon, oxygen, strontium, sulfur, and magnesium isotopes to document changing geochemical cycles, correlate globally and construct a new age model. Additionally, she established those dolomitizing fluidsled to significant systematic changes in many geochemical systems, including carbon isotopes. Her current research focuses on expanding the latter project to northern Mongolia and southern Russia by mapping and collecting geochronologic and geochemical samples firmly grounded in robust geologic and sedimentary frameworks.
Dr. Uyanga Bold holds an MSc and Ph.D. from the Graduate school of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University and a BSc from the Mongolian University of Science and Technology.
H.E Catherine Ivkoff
Canadian Ambassador to Mongolia
Catherine Ivkoff (BA Hons [French and Political Science], University of Western Ontario, 1988; LLB, University of Western Ontario, 1994) joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in 2003. At Headquarters, she was an officer on the Russia desk in the Eastern Europe Division from 2004 to 2006 and a legal officer in the United Nations, Human Rights and Humanitarian Law Section from 2010 to 2012.
Overseas, she served in Russia from 2006 to 2010 as second secretary (political) and in Kazakhstan from 2012 to 2015 as political counsellor. Most recently, she was deputy director of the Economic Law Section.
Deirdré Lingenfelder
Chief Executive Officer of Oyu Tolgoi
Deirdré Lingenfelder was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Oyu Tolgoi in March 2022. Deirdré is a highly experienced leader in the mining industry. She joined Rio Tinto in 2017 as the Vice President for Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Communities, Copper Group. In this role, she drove a focused effort to implement HSE and Sustainability strategies across the global Copper asset portfolio, including at Oyu Tolgoi.
Prior to Rio Tinto, Deirdré worked in diverse global leadership roles in Anglo American and De Beers and held various leadership and Board-level roles. She has over 20 years of experience in sustainability and operational leadership within the multi-commodity mining and industrial sectors.
She holds multiple Master’s degrees from the University of Johannesburg in Science, and Commerce respectively.
Aneel Waraich
Executive Vice President & Director of Steppe Gold Ltd
Mr. Waraich, a Canadian citizen, is a financial services professional with over 15 years of progressive experience in capital markets. Mr. Waraich is Founder and Managing Partner of ATMA Capital Markets.
Mr. Waraich focuses primarily on advising public and private companies in the Natural Resources sector and has worked on over $1B in deals. In previous roles at Goodman and Company Investment Counsel and Dundee Capital Markets he worked as an analyst valuing private companies. Most recently Aneel worked as an investment banker focusing on deal origination, going-public transactions and financings for both public and private companies in the resource and technology sectors. Mr. Waraich is also on the board of Antler Hill Mining Limited and Ion Energy Ltd.
Mr. Waraich received an MBA from Goodman Institute of Investment Management, at the John Molson School of Business.
PETER AKERLEY
President & CEO of Erdene Resource Development Corp. (TSX:ERD)
Mr. Akerley has 30 years of experience in mineral exploration, corporate financing, project development and management of publicly listed resource companies. He is one of the founders and principals of the Corporation and has held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer since March 2003.
He is a geologist who has worked extensively in foreign jurisdictions throughout his career, predominately in North and South America and Asia, with a recent focus on Mongolia, where he has led the technical team through the confirmation of a major molybdenum and copper deposit, the discovery and definition of the Altan Nar gold deposit and recent discovery of the Bayan Khundii gold project. He has extensive experience in corporate mergers and acquisitions, joint venture arrangements, asset purchase and sales, and financings, leading the Corporation and its subsidiaries through more than 20 such business arrangements since taking the Corporation public in 2004. Mr. Akerley is past-chairman of the TSX-V listed Morien Resources Corp. where he was responsible for leading the creation of the company as a spin-out of assets from Erdene and the subsequent sale of the Donkin Coal and Black Point Aggregate projects, converting those interests into royalty interests.
He also served on the Board and Special Committee of Temex Resources Corporation (TSX-V) advising on the sale of the company to Lake Shore Gold Corp (Tahoe Resources Inc). He also pioneered the company’s involvement as the founding and lead sponsor of the very successful Catapult leadership program in Nova Scotia. Mr. Akerley has a BSc (1988) from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, specializing in geology, and has completed the Institute of Corporate Directors Audit Committee Effectiveness course in December 2012

Colin Moorhead
Executive Chairman of Xanadu Mines (TSX: XAM)
Mr Moorhead is an experienced industry executive with a demonstrated track record of over three decades building value in mining companies through innovation, discovery, project development and safe, efficient operations. Colin has extensive experience in development and financing significant mining projects internationally. He also has experience with global mining operations as well as experience in successful mergers & acquisitions.
A geologist by training, Colin is known for strong leadership, strategy and execution that saw him rise through the ranks from a graduate with BHP in 1987 to an executive level manager responsible for global exploration and resource development at Newcrest Mining from 2008 to 2015, a period of significant growth for the company. Colin has significant relevant experience as CEO of emerging Indonesian listed producer PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk, where he built and led the team that constructed and commissioned the highly successful Tujuh Bukit Gold Mine. Colin is a Fellow, Chartered Professional and Immediate Past President of AUSIMM, a graduate of AICD and Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program (AMP).

The Honourable Bryon Wilfert served for 26 years of elected political office both as a Municipal Councillor and as Member of Parliament. He served as Junior Minister of the Environment, as well as Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs and National Defence. He served as Vice President of APPECD Asia Pacific Parliamentarians Environment Conference Development) based in Korea.
Bryon holds a Master of Arts in Political Economy (U of T), Institute of Corporate Directors designation (ICD.D) (U of T – Rotman School), and holds an Accredited Municipal Clerk and Treasurer (AMCT) in Municipal Administration from St. Lawrence College.
He was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun – Gold/Silver Star from His Imperial Majesty and the Prime Minister of Japan for his tireless work on Canada/Japan relations. He holds the Queen’s Gold and Diamond Jubilee Medals.

Graham Dallas covers the Europe, Middle East & Africa region for Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange, where he’s responsible for both listings and investor business development.
Graham has extensive experience in the debt and equity capital markets of Asia, Europe and North America with a particular emphasis on both the challenges and opportunities presented by cross-border listing. He joined TSX in 2013 and has previously worked for both the London Stock Exchange and Nasdaq.
